Exciting news for our gifted students!
We are excited to announce that our school has been awarded an ALSDE Gifted Student Grant to support Global Legacies: Exploring Ancient Civilizations Through Culture, Innovation, and Creativity.
This grant, written by Dana Terry PACE/Gifted Specialist, will provide our gifted students with a rich, real-world learning experience focused on global cultures, innovation, and creativity.
We are grateful to the Alabama State Department of Education Gifted Student Grant Program for their continued support of gifted education and for helping make meaningful learning opportunities possible for our students.

This Friday, students have the opportunity for an out of uniform day for $3.00. All proceeds will go to support the programs of the United Way of Southwest Alabama that gives back to our community!

School will be on regular schedule tomorrow, Monday, January 26th. Students are expected to be in unform with the option of layering jackets or winter wear under or over their uniforms. We look forward to seeing all our students!

Third-Fifth grade students participated in our annual Spelling Bee this afternoon. Congratulations to 5th grader, Johnny, for coming in first place! The winning word was bombarded. 5th grader, Arianna, came in second place and 4th grader, Isabella, came in third place.



This Friday, December 19th, students are welcome to wear school appropriate holiday pajamas to school! If not participating, students will wear their school uniforms.

Come join us for our Christmas Music Program in the gym on Thursday, December 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Hollinger's Island and Spencer-Westlawn Elementary School's PACE students have been studying how ancient civilizations continue to influence the world today. This Christmas tree at Mobile Regional Airport celebrates two cultures whose creativity and innovation changed history: China and Japan - the birthplace of paper and the art of paper folding.
